John M's Review of Arc'teryx Beta SV Jacket - Men's
Was shopping for a new Goretex shell for Pacific Northwest winters and snow sports during recent Arcteryx sale.
I pored over the descriptions of multiple items and picked the Beta SV for the best combination of features. For me, it had the right assortment of pockets for skiing. Also, from past purchases, I know I prefer the Arcteryx storm hood better over the drop hood. This doesn't have a powder skirt, but I don't use in my jackets that have one.
This thing is good looking and constructed solidly.
I think I fall between Arcteryx sizes in the Beta. I am 5' 11", 165 lb. I had previously had the opportunity to try the Beta SV in a and found it was WAY too large.
I ordered a medium, unfortunately the fit was just slightly snug in upper chest/armpits, and with some regret, decided to return.
