Has many Arcteryx holders

by alongalei, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on April 4, 2021
I have been exposed to many outdoor clothing brands and styles. But I still return to Arcteryx, and cotton-padded jacket is my main equipment in my grading equipment. It is mainly used outdoors and commuting. I am in Harbin, the northeast city of China. Firebee AR, Fission SV and Kappa can directly make me over 15℃. Fission SV is one yard larger than Kappa, because the temperature of application is different. The fist I use is m code, and Kappa uses s code. I am 182 in height and 142 in weight. At present, my city is 10℃, and my lower body is Proton and my upper body is Kappa. This set allows me to use it for multiple purposes

One of the best jackets ever, excellent quality well made and fits perfect , XL just fit right for me I’m about 220 and 5’7 . You can’t go wrong with Arc’terix brand the only down side will be the price but you getting a top quality jacket.

Good Jacket... We'll see if it is great...

by Brett, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on January 16, 2021
I own a lot of Arc'teryx products an generally, I am a fan. I needed a new winter coat to replace my Mammut jacket which finally failed after 5+ years of use. The Kappa Hoody is not a technical jacket and lacks pit zips, snow skirt , etc., but I was looking for a winter coat for just daily wear. The jacket is very light, and it didn't seem like there was very much insulation. But, I kept the jacket based on reviews that said it was "toasty." Turns out, they were right. It's plenty warm without layering up until you get below 20 degrees. Even then, its fine unless you are going to be standing around outside for an extended period of time. I bought a Large because I find that most Arc'teryx jackets are cut for a more trim fit. I'm 5' 10", 180 with an athletic build, and the large fits me perfectly and leaves some room for layering. The Gore-Tex Infinium shell is light-weight; so, I will have to wait and see about long-term wear. It's a little pricey, but if it holds up like my other items from Arc'teryx, then it will worth the price.
Pros:
  • Warmer than expected
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • general wear

I believe this dress can accompany me for many years....

I have Atom SL and LT. Their fabrics are generally. PROTON LT is also better than the former. The fabric is thin but strong and very windproof. But Kappa Hoody has more practical details on the clothes than the former. For example, the hat is big. There are two very large bags on the left and right sides of the upper body. The palm part can also be manually adjusted. The fabric is also thick. It feels durable. It is very practical and professional after wearing. The price is also OK. Because he is better than ATOM. LT is a lot better. I believe you will not be disappointed.
Pros:
  • Durability, appearance professional
Cons:
  • NO shortcomings
Best Used for:
  • Cold season

No better jacket for all conditions

by Eric Reid, Verified Owner from ME, United States Written on December 4, 2018
Skied all mountains of the Mountain Collective Pass two years ago with and older version of this jacket. It has remained unchanged for over 10 years for good reason - it is terrific!! The fact that it is easy to layer underneath makes it great for all temperatures under freezing. Even above zero it is comfortable, as it breathes fairly well. All in all a great jacket. This was a terrific price on last years color.

Arc'teryx Kappa Hoody - Mens

by Andrew L., Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on June 6, 2018
I was looking for a winter jacket and this jacket fits the bill. The description described it as trim-fit but it's normal fit. I normally wear XL and was worried as my other Arcteryx I had to go up one size. I bought it during summer when it's on sale and we'll see when I go up to the mountains during winter.
Pros:
  • Nice jacket
Cons:
  • None so far
Best Used for:
  • Winter climate

Worth the money

by Bobbo3000, from NY, United States Written on April 22, 2018
This is a great winter jacket. Weighs almost nothing, but provides plenty of warmth below freezing. DWR worked great at repelling rain. It has lots of adjustments for the hood and hems so you can get it adjusted to block the wind. The jacket has nice details like a band along the collar to prevent drafts from going down your back and roomy interior pockets. I'll be putting it away for the season soon, but I'm glad I'll have it for next winter.
