Great jacket

by wjrabbit, Verified Owner from DE, United States Written on November 23, 2020
This jacket is awesome! I have a couple of rain jackets that I run in but they've always just been okay... They get the job done but they're not exactly enjoyable to run in. Most rain jackets are way too warm for running and the crinkly waterproof fabric is loud and obnoxious. This jacket isn't like that at all. It's not crinkly, it's not too warm and it's soft against your skin if you want to wear a tank top or short sleeve underneath. My previous rain jackets weren't very compactable either. This one packs down smaller than an avocado which is great for long runs or trail runs with a pack. Or, for hikers who want a super light emergency rain jacket. I recommend this jacket to anyone who lives somewhere with rainy spring weather and still wants to get outside regardless of the precipitation.

It always a bit painful on the wallet splurging on gore-tex products but always worth it. Arc Teryx has an awesome quality jacket here. The breathability and waterproofness are top notch. I love the design and contoured fit. It is super light and packable. One of my favorite jackets!

So light, just right

by timcarouge, Verified Owner from GE, Switzerland Written on May 10, 2020
I travel 6-7 months a year, and this will become my only jacket, at 150 grams! Just add a down vest, and/or a down jacket depending on the climate you are travelling in, and that's it. An outerwear system that will take you around the world, that is smaller than a 1 liter bottle, and weighs much less.
Pros:
  • Light
  • Great protection
Cons:
  • Price
  • longevitiy?
Best Used for:
  • world travel

Wide range of use

Alpine, wilderness, hiking, leisure, this is a very versatile shoe, my wife also thinks it is beautiful, I like it very much.
And it's still waterproof. When I walk through the stream, it gives me enough confidence to protect my feet from getting wet.

The One and Only

by Jonah, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on April 25, 2020
I have lots of jacket for all climates but this jacket is the one I use the most. Having a pack-able jacket is better than have an expensive one you dont have with you. I used this jacket in the rain and its waterproof. You can layer it with a thermo shirt and it is as good as any insulated jacket but light and pack-able so you slip it in your backpack, glove compartment, or inside your laptop bag. I get lots of compliments on this jacket. Quality if bar none. Lifetime warranty so anything that happens to it 10-15 years down the road Arteryx will fix it or replace it. Need I say more?
