I recently took the Zeta SL jacket on a climbing trip where I got rained on and snowed on. The water virtually jumped off the fabric and kept me nice and dry. It also held up amazingly well, coming away without even a scuff after bushwacking and scrambling around rock all week. It packs up small and light and I didn’t even notice it in my pack. Without a doubt this is the most durable and the most weather resistant lightweight shell I have ever use, and I would highly recommend it. This jacket has excellent technology and cool style. I can feel this protects my body from rain and wind at the top of the mountain. It can be worn without difficulty in downtown and can look fashionable.

High Versatile Jacket

I have used this jacket extensively already, from everyday around urban use, to lead climbing bridges, embankment rope rescue drills mountain hiking, fishing and more. Very easy to layer under and it keeps the wind and rain off of you. Not a helmet designed hood, but that is described in its bio. Great jacket

Wide range of use

Alpine, wilderness, hiking, leisure, this is a very versatile shoe, my wife also thinks it is beautiful, I like it very much.
And it's still waterproof. When I walk through the stream, it gives me enough confidence to protect my feet from getting wet.

I bought it for mountaineering.
Lightweight and portable.
The length is a bit long, but it can be folded. Gore-Tex seems to be able to be used in four seasons. I bought it for mountaineering.

Super light, super strong

I was choosing between this and the Zeta FL. The Zeta FL is lighter for sure, but I think the durability of this one is much better.

I like that this actually has pockets, despite being so light. I also like the hood much more than the hood on the FL. The color options are pretty good (if you care about that).

The main downside, is that it's a bit of a boxy fit compared to the FL. It allows you to layer better, but I like the tighter fit of the FL.
Pros:
  • Packable
  • durable
  • Very light (but not the lightest)
Cons:
  • A bit long
  • Loose fit (compared to the FL)
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking

Great jacket for around town or an emergency protection on day hikes

Lightweight Goretex that's ideal to through in the pack on a day hike or to use when walking round town. Slim fit and nice that the hood is smaller than the usual Arc'Teryx hoods that are helmet compatible. Would have been nice to have zip-pits but that would just increase the cost.

  • no zip-pits

  • round town of day hikes
