Purchased in March 2018, Read all the reviews,REI,AMAZON, etc. Wore these to break them in ahead of a 3 week walking trip to the SW Cornish Coast in July.

Over the years I have owned lots of hiking boots. Asolo now is my preferred brand because they are more durable than their competitors and worth the higher price. The Megaton GV is a low cut hiking shoe -- ideal for those day hikes that do not require ankle support. They are comfortable like sneakers, but have a stiffer Vibram sole and Gore-Tex lining to keep your toes dry. I replaced the slippery laces and always wear them with Superfeet green insoles. Although the Megaton is designed for the trail, I often find myself wearing them around town. This is my second pair. My first pair is two years old and has a lot of miles on them. They are still in good shape, so I put this second pair in the closet for future use.
Pros:
Comfortable
durable
Well-designed
Cons:
Slippery shoelaces
Best Used for:
Around town
day hikes

I hope Asolo brings this shoe back. I just bought my second pair, it was 1 of the last 2 of my size I could find anywhere in the brown. Was lucky to find that. I've had this shoe for three years, worn them a ton. Eventually just wore down the tread. Other than that, the shoe is still in perfect shape.
I've never had a shoe as both comfortable and rugged as this shoe.
