Great Breathability, Solid Outsole and Excellent Grip, but...

Here are my impressions of these shoes on my feet. I ordered a pair of 10 men's medium width (D). YMMV.
I found the fit of these shoes to be odd. The toebox is short but wide. Despite having a wide toebox, the shoe seemed to squeeze/pinch my feet, right at the base of my little toes. Also, the removable insoles are extremely thin, so if you want to replace them with insoles that have real arch support / better cushioning, order a 1/2 size up. I couldn't get my Superfeet insoles into the shoes, lengthwise. Also, this feature, "Balanced Geometry places heel and ball at the same level" made my feet feel like my toes were pitched upwards, like standing in beach sand.
Another feature, "hydrophobic meshes" is interesting, because the upper half of the tongue is canvas, as is where the shoelace eyelets are fastened. If the canvas truly repels moisture, that's great, but if it doesn't, wet canvas shoes smell just awful. I can't verify this performance either way, because I only tried on the shoes; I didn't get them wet.
Overall, the shoes are well made, have great breathability, and a solid outsole with excellent grip. They didn't work out for me, but if I had room for thicker socks and my insoles of choice, things could have been different.
They're very well-reviewed elsewhere, so don't be afraid to give them a try; they may be just what you're looking for.
Pros:
  • Grip
  • Traction
  • Breathable mesh upper
  • Outsole
Cons:
  • Insoles are flimsy
  • partial canvas uppers
  • Peculiar fit
  • Toes pitched upwards
Best Used for:
  • boating
  • hiking and river crossing
  • Warm weather hikes
