I love the Axis lock and that is a big reason I like Benchmade knives so much. Having owned a 551 in the past I know the poor feeling and blade steel of the earlier models. I was on the fence about buying the The newer G10 with 20CV steel. A simple 20% coupon for Labor Day fixed that however. I have since fallen in love with the great ergonomics and the blade steel is great. It is easily sharpened at home with a simple Edge Pro Apex and some strip work maintains the edge well. Built in the USA and warrantied will ensure I get a lifetime of use out of this knife. This would make a great first knife if your new to the hobby or just the Benchmade brand. In my case it's in a small collection and is used often.
