Great Double Bag

by Whitlock, from GA, United States Written on September 16, 2017
Extensively searched for an affordable double bag for my husband and I for backpacking. It is super comfortable and warm. My husband is over six feet and we have plenty of room. There is more room than I anticipated. It takes up the entire floor of our Big Angnes 2 person Rattlesnake tent. Two Klymit air pads fit well in the sleeves. I took away one star because this bag is heavy. It is about 6 pounds. The website specs said it was 4 pounds. The weight initially sold me. Also, even with compression straps it is an extremely tight fit in either of our Osprey packs.
Pros:
  • Comfortable, zippers on both sides, pocket for air pads
Cons:
  • Heavy, big
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking, car camping

Big Agnes Big Creek 30

by Scott A., Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on December 16, 2015
Temps have been in the 40s here in Minnesota so thought it would be a good time to order the double wide 30 degree sleeping bag from Big Agnes and try it out before it really gets cold. Kept the tags on my new bag so if I didn't like it I could send it back. Set up my new tent in the garage (raining that night) and set up the Big Creek with my Big Agnes insulated air-core mattress pad. Temp was 40 degrees, no wind of course, and I only use one of two sleeping pads so it was only me in the double wide with only one pad and only wearing shorts. I found out that I was warm and cozy. If I would have blown up second pad and placed it in the other half of the Big Creek and added my girlfriend in there I know I would of been comfortable at 30 degrees. Lots of room in bag for legs and the sleeve system Big Agnes has is awesome. Works much better then the system I had before laying double sleeping bag on top of two air mattresses. This bag will definitely work for our late fall BWCA trips!

Warm, great lightweight bag

This is a great 2 person sleeper, the sleeping pad holders are a great feature and the fact that it can fit in a regular sleeping bag compartment in a backpack is another plus. The only not so good thing we noticed is that sometimes the zipper wouldn't pull so easily once you were in lying down, but that was always able to be fixed. Very warm bag, definitely worth what you're paying for.
