First of all the product arrived damaged the stretchy cord holding brow pole was severed, campsaver showed excellent customer service and dealt with ba directly and shipped us a new pole free of charge and didn't make us wait for ever. It arrived in time for our rocky mtn trip we got unexpected storm 8" of snow and temperatures dipping below -4c two of our company's tents collapsed at bascamp ours was standing strong the two vestibules just right. a little moisture the first night gathered on sleeping bag mouths, second night I realized vent option was there the vent supports did not give out ...

After reading up on this model on several websites, I found this guy on sale at CampSaver for $180. It arrived in perfect condition and will fit my needs perfectly. For someone who only does a few overnight backpacking trips a year, it's PERFECT and doesn't cost $500 like some of the slightly lighter tents. The poles are symmetrical which is a nice small bonus.
I will say there is some confusion on the website, this tent DOES come with a footprint (part of the package from Big Agnes). It's very clear on the printed Big Agnes tag that comes with the tent that "footprint included". So unless something changes, there's no need to buy a separate footprint.
If you see this back on sale, jump on it!
Pros:
nice colors
Bang for buck
Footprint INCLUDED
Cons:
None
Best Used for:
Light backpacking

When I bought the tent it mentioned about getting a free footprint with it but it didn't come with one. Bit disappointed. Now I will separately have to order one
Otherwise very pleased with the purchase

I was looking for a compact tent for kayak touring. It had to have enough room for one person and gear, have good height, easy set-up, and good ventilation. Plus it needed to pack easily inside my kayak. This tent scored high marks on all these points. This is my third Big Agnes tent, so I knew it would be well made. The tent is a breeze to set up alone, although the large center clip on the tent body could be little easier to open. It held up against wind and rain on its first outing without any issues. No condensation with good ventilation. I love the Quick Stash doors and the generous pockets on the roof of the tent to store small items out of the way. This tent was a perfect fit for one person, but it would be a bit tight for two in my opinion. I used one door/vestibule to store my dry bags and extra gear, and the other door for entry & exit. The zippers were smooth and I found no flaws with the workmanship of the tent. I was able to pack the tent, fly, stakes, and footprint in the tent bag without a problem. I debated between the Blacktail 2 and the Copper Spur 2, and the Blacktail was plenty compact enough to pack easily inside my kayak. Thanks to CampSaver for fast shipping!
