Most Helpful Positive Review The best 1P Tent I've owned
For a free standing, 1P, non-DCF tent this is the best! The new large mesh storage bin inside works like a charm for tossing in small stuff sacks etc as you're putting everything together. The new for 2020 awning is also really useful after you work out the pitch and angles to get it right. I though...

Most Helpful Negative Review Not recommended
The 1P tent configuration on this tent has probably one of the worst designs I have ever seen. The side opposite of the entrance vestibule is just plain horrible. Do yourself a favor and research the layout before buying. Better yet, see one for yourself in person. The side without a vestibule is e...

Super-lite and versatile

by JR, from WV, United States Written on September 27, 2022
Just purchased this and plan on buying one more for my 16 year-old son. Super light and we plan on taking them on a trip on the AT here in VA/WV. I also like the flexibility of making it even lighter by just using the fly in good weather!
Pros:
  • Versatile
  • Lightweight
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Back Country
  • backpakcing

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL 1 tent

by Dean D., Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on July 5, 2022
Easy set up. The poles are all shock corded together. Unfolding the poles and putting them together creates one pole structure. The 3 -season tent body has four color-coded grommeted corners that attach to four color-coded pole ends, and the tent plastic clips to the pole structure. The fly goes over the pole structure, and the fly has color-coded clips to the four color-coded tent corners. Don't know how Big Agnes measures their tents. As set up on pole structure without guying, 84" long x 36"/26" wide x 40" high inside with a tape measure. Big Agnes claims 88" long x 38"/28" wide x 38" high. The height is good (actually more), but the other dimensions are short. It will fit a 25" wide pad (less than 26"), but my long sleeping bag with 5" loft, is 86" long (more than 84"). My sleeping bag will be firmly against the top and bottom of the length of the tent. Tent weighs 2.4 pounds. Don't like the tent seam across the middle of the floor. This a good light 3 season free standing 1 man tent. Fly sheds water and covers the tent.
Pros:
  • Easy set up, free standing
Cons:
  • shorter than described
Best Used for:
  • 3 season backpacking

2020 Copper Spur HV UL1 Tent

by Warren Ruud, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on February 10, 2021
So far, everything is as advertised. I bought this tent to replace my BA Fishhook, which I loved. (It met an unfortunate event, and BA discontinued that model.) The CS has a nice high tub for camping in snow, easy setup, good ventilation with the fly on, and sufficient length. I wish it was 2"-3" wider (I like my gear inside the tent in weather), and I wish it had 1-2" more head room. I also liked the fly-and-footprint setup option with my fishhook, and this one has that option too.

Ultralight backpacking 3 season tent

by Mourya VB, from CA, United States Written on September 15, 2020
Best for 3 season solo backpacking. Waterproof but could not survive heavy winds on Mount Rainier. I'd definitely use on my mountaineering trips if weather looks not bad. Definitely not suitable for harsh conditions. Perfect summer backpacking tent.
