Most Helpful Positive Review Fly Creek HV Platinum 2 - 2 Person, 3 Season
very light tent, HV is easy to enter, have older fly creek platinum also held up well to rain and some wind. I would not use this tent in an very exposed place. In the woods or sheltered areas. True to listed weight, need to be used with ground cloth. I use very light POLYCRYO ground sheet.

featherweight but awkward

by Hayseed Girl, from CO, United States Written on November 30, 2020
This tent was a joy to carry - takes up little space in the pack and weighs nothing. I was really looking forward to owning a Big Agnes tent. I camp with my 50 lb dog and I was sort of expecting something revolutionary about entry and exit, and interior space. Well, with the front fly staked out, I still have to sort of crawl or crouch my way into/out of this puppy. Also, the 'high volume ' interior space is hard to achieve even with a careful staking job. The only extra volume is top and center -- it wouldn't work for 2 people to sit up, IMO. The dog handles it fine, as long as he waits for me to unzip both tent and fly before he bolts. But I was trying to get away from the old style backpacking tents; my joints aren't as nimble as they once were. So I am going to return this after about 9 nights of use, and purchase the Copper Spur.
Other points: so far the Fly Creek has handled rain magnificently - downpour or drizzle, it sheds the water, so long as the fly is properly and tautly tied out. I wouldn't ever plan to share this UL2 with another adult. Nope. A warning that if you travel with dogs you may get a tear in the mesh if you aren't really careful with your pet. I carry an ensolite pad for mine, then I contrive a barrier between him and the side mesh because he rolls around a lot and a stray claw would easily penetrate the mesh.

There's nothing lighter

by Dennisonthetrail, from CA, United States Written on August 18, 2020
Super light, easy to set-up. Provides adequate protection for all but the strongest downpours. You'll appreciate the weight savings in your pack. A bit tight for 2 people, but liveable. Durability is a bit suspect. Will have to see how handles a full season of multi-night trips.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
Cons:
  • Durability TBD
Best Used for:
  • fast and light hiking, strenous backpacking
