Most Helpful Positive Review Loving My Back Country Home
I was in the market for a new light weight backpacking tent for several months. I did a lot of research and comparisons of similar tents in the UL category (MSR FreeLite 3) since was going to be more of a long term investment for my future adventures. I ended up going with the Fly Creak HV UL 3 as my new back country home. After narrowing down which tent I wanted to go with I had to figure out if I wanted a two or three person tent. The Fly Creak HV UL 2, was my first choice for my woman and I, which is 1lb lighter (trail weight) than the UL3. We don't pack much with us, but we like the least ...

Super light with minor flaws

by Ben, Verified Owner from KY, United States Written on September 1, 2018
This tent is an ultralight beast. Super light and plenty of space for two (3 would be too tight). The weight savings come with some cons though. This thing is fragile; Single entry; the ceiling slopes down fast toward the foot box; and only semi-free standing so be sure to guy out the fly well.
Best Used for:
  • Backpacing
  • Ultralight

Meets my needs

by mountainchickadee, from CA, United States Written on March 12, 2018
I was in search of a lightweight backpacking tent that was relatively spacious for two people. The "two-person" tents, often, tend to be way too small for my style, as I prefer to have ample room for two people and dogs to be able to fit without feeling stuck to the walls. This 3-person tent fits the bill. Albeit expensive, I felt it was worth forking out more money for a quality, lightweight, spacious tent. It sleeps two adults very comfortably. Three people, in my opinion, would be too tight. The fabric is thin, so one should handle the tent somewhat gingerly, but it is surprisingly more durable than one would think and it does well the rain. I was caught in the rain and this tent stayed dry. I am very happy with this purchase.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • Spacious
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Back packing

Recommended tent

by Dear, Verified Owner from Taiwan Written on January 4, 2018
Very light three season tents, it is recommended that two people use the strip part of the special maintenance in order to avoid aging, shading is somewhat inadequate but the overall still very recommended
