Have only set it up in our backyard twice when heavy wind and rain was expected. I actually thought that no water would get inside-we had it completely closed and guyed out with the supplied stakes and guy lines, but the first time there was a small puddle in a corner by the front door. This was during a fairly heavy all day rain. The next time we had it set up for a storm of 40 mph winds and very heavy rain, but virtually no rain got in, although one side of the vestibule did blow loose due to a stake becoming pulled out. I have purchased 18 MSR Groundhog stakes and 4 extra guylines from Campsaver now, hoping that these will make it as waterproof and windproof as expected. 2 of the screen windows had minor tears in them. All in all the tent is comfortable, with comfortable entry doors, and pleasant to be in. It will require a very large site to pitch it, and that is of such concern that we will always take our backpacking tent along in case. Recommended; really 4 and a half stars. Much better in rain than REI Hobitat 6,
