This bag does not have insulation on the bottom. It relies on a insulated sleeping pad (Sold Separately) to keep your bottom warm. I found the description misleading and confusing- no where does it outright say that you need to additionally buy their pad until you read far down the page into the details. This should be mentioned right at the top in the summarized description.

finally got to take on a backpacking trip. Loved it until I slept. Only person in our group cold every night with temps in the mid to upper 40's. yes: I had an insulated BA Q core pad and was in a tent.
Not an accurate temperature rating! Returning it.

This bag seems great. Good design and construction. Only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is the size. I got a regular and it’s really tight in the shoulders. I’m 5’7” and 150 pounds. Might be better to go with a men’s bag.

Very light, packs small and kept me warm. I sleep on my side and my legs had plenty of space to move without feeling trapped, like in a mummy bag.

This is actually my second bag--I had a left zip and went to a hammock. As a result I needed a right zip. I will never have another bag!

I slept in it for 11 very cold nights in the high Sierra and was warm (used a liner as well) and comfortable. Especially pleased with the hip and leg room. Seems to be good quality. I put it on top of a wider air cushion and it worked fine.

Just got back from the Sierra Nevadas and it got down into the twenties our last night. This bag still kept me pretty warm. I highly recommend getting this sleeping bag if you're considering it. Best, most comfortable sleep system!

We went on an overnight backpacking trip on the Gold Mint Trail and camped at the end of the valley. I get very cold at night and I wanted a bag that would keep me warm without having to wear all my clothes. First, the bag is very roomy, zipper easy to open and close, sleeping pad sleeve, and drawcord around the head. I wore a lightweight base layer with socks to sleep in. I was worried about not having insulation on the backside but my 4 in BA sleeping pad took care of that and kept my backside warm. I was cold and my feet even colder when I climbed into the sleeping bag. It took awhile for my toes to warm up and I felt cold around my torso area. It felt like cold air was getting inside my bag but after an hour it warmed up inside the bag and I slept warm and toasty all night while it was down in the 30s. Next time I'll do a few jumping jacks to warm myself up before jumping into the bag. This is my first sleeping bag since retiring from the military so I can't compare it to any other bag.
