Just what we wanted
We just finished a 1200 mile backpack on the Appalachian Trail. With two dogs we had to use a Big Agnes Ultra-lite 3 man tent which weighed 3.5 pounds. We slept in shelters a lot, so it bothered me every day when I'd put the tent (it's weight) in my pack. This new tent, with all the stakes etc., is only two pounds, and much smaller packed up. We just used it on a 90 mile hike through Montana's

scout ul 2 review
Very light weight, easy to set up and I got it at a great price. I will probably need to get a foot print for it since it is made from a really thin material. Shipping was fast.

great light option
Works great in areas that you can get 12 stakes in the ground.

Lightweight, spacious throw-back with compromises
The most significant compromise in my experience with this tent is between the its lightweight, single-walled nature and the occupant's susceptibility to condensation.
I spent one night in this tent in Oregon's high desert country in X-Mas Valley in February. Nighttime temps were around 20ºF and the sky was clear. In the pre-dawn hours I noticed the frosty condensation inside the tent which melted as the sun rose. I packed an absorbent towel and wiped most of the condensation off before it reached me or my sleeping bag.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well this tent handled moderate winds of around 12 mph. The back wall is sloped unlike the flat entryway, and the multiple guy-out points provide secure anchoring. I would find this tent cramped for two adults, but palatial for one.
I bought this tent used from The Shed and am pleased. The price was right and Campsaver accurately described the condition. Plus, the floor print was included.

a great lightwieght shelter
awesome shelter that i use this mostly as a single person shelter. i thought about going the tarp route but decided i wanted some protection from creepy crawlies. lots of room and that is one of the big reasons i decided to go with it. does seem prone to condensation but i can live with that. i use carbon trekking poles anyway so it is not a problem to use them as part of the set up.

Light/bug free accomodation at last
Packs in a pocket of my bike pannier with ease. It is so much lighter and mosquito free than the tarp I have been using for years (...that tarp set-up was not so light once I added a mosquito screen and groundsheet.)

Awesome Hiking Tent
Awesome, easy setup, light plenty of room for 1/2, great for light backpacking I got it for and even for 1 week at winter camp.
Setup with poles on outside for easier use inside.
Plenty of room inside so no problem with boots or gear
The awesome carbon poles I ordered with this are spot on perfect for this tent.
If I'm not sleeping in a hammock this is the way to go, awesome, awesome, awesome

Incredible!
Set up easy in the rain the first time. Only drawback is you need your treking poles, so if you're just camping and not hiking don't forget them! This tent is crazy light and huge inside!

Big Agnes Scout UL2 Disapointment
Great supper lightweight tent. Easy to set up, durable and functional however the tent failed badly in the condensation department. The tent collected enough condensation that we were forced to hang our sleeping bags and all the contents of our clothes bags because of moisture. The inside of the tent turned into a rain forest. Very disappointed. I was looking forward to "Loving" the scout ul2. Big
