Pros: The mattress pocket, sleeping bag system is fantastic. Even though we have two mummy style mattresses, our mattresses kept together throughout the night. The pillow pocket kept the pillows in their own places and the hood cover created a cozy, warm space. Separate zippers were a plus. Condensation did not soak the fabric. The best part was sharing the same space at night, not separate sleeping bags. The sleeping bag was light to carry and compacted very well in a compression sack, allowing us extra room for other items. The Sentinel would work well on hot summer days. My husband and I are average sized people and the sleeping bag fit us well, this sleeping bag would not work for broad shoulder people.
Cons: Our backpack trip was in evening temperatures between -1 and 4 degrees Celsius. Anytime someone moved cold air would rush into the sleeping bag. The drawstrings to tighten the collar and hood were very thin, so they pressed awkwardly into the skin. We both were very cold.
Although, I wouldn't recommend to others to purchase this product, we are going to continue to use the Sentinel because we enjoy the closeness of being together at night and like the mattress pocket system. It is light and compacts so I can carry the sleeping bag and tent and my husband carries the food and other items. We have opted to bring extra fleece liners and warm layers to make it work for colder temperatures.
Pros:
Light
Sleeping together
Cons:
drafty
Best Used for:
Summer backpacking
Would recommend: No

I slept in this bag one night and froze. It was 45 degrees out and I was wearing ALL my clothes and I froze. I want to return the bag. Because I slept in it one night the most Big Agnes will give me is an 80% credit after evaluating the condition of the bag. I will be sure to only shop at REI from now on so that I can have 100% satisfaction. I did not get that with Big Agnes.
Pros:
None
Cons:
Cold
drafty
