The girdle compressed my sleeping bag but did not compress nearly to the extent that was shown in the pictures. The value of the item was good. I do not know that I would recommend this purchase to anyone, however.

This is a really versatile piece of gear. I have several and use them to compress sleeping bags and the dog bed. You can use the stuff sack the bags came in. As another reviewer noted, the straps can come out of the buckles, but that is easy to fix. The straps can also get wrapped up in a tangled mess if you're not careful.

With this strap setup I was able to compress my bag a lot more then with the "all in one" compression sack I was using. The straps are a little bit tricky to work with but for more compactness I am OK with that.

Can't comment on durability yet, I haven't had the chance to put it to use in the field.
I didn't give it five stars because it's not earth shattering technology or something you just have to have. But in terms of what it's designed to do, it does it.
Seems well constructed and does what it's supposed to do. Simple to use and it's cheaper than buying one of the Sea to Summit dry compression bags

This is a great item...will stuff down to a small size. I use with my Big A sleeping bag and I am amazed at how small I cant get the sleeping bag with this item...about the size of a football. The only gripe is the straps come out of the buckles but you can fold over ends of straps and put a quick stich and that stops the problem. If you want compression this is the way to go.
