Thomas's Review of Black Diamond Astro Headlamp
This is a basic headlamp without any bells or whistles. Unfortunately, Black Diamond seems to have done the bare minimum to make this light. The strap quality is ok for the price but the lamp digs into your head when it is tilted down. The light is bright and the dimming features do work well. However, my biggest disappointment is in the waterproofing and construction. The lamp opens up with a cheap plastic clip and it is clear there is no O-ring or any real seal to keep the batteries dry. After a while the clip also gets worn out and makes the lamp too easy to open. All in all I really dont think this lamp is worth the price and I certainly would not take it into a situation where I needed to trust it.
