Reviews & Ratings for Black Diamond Contact Lightweight Strap Crampons
— 5 reviews — Page 1
I love winter hikes and without crampons it will be impossible. I have Petzl crampons but my husband has Black Diamond and I think they have better quality. I bought this one for my mum. They have 10 contact points which is enough for most of icy and snowy conditions. They protect you from sliding even on the icy trails.
A very good product. The stainless steel is both lightweight and strong and inhibits rust formation as well. The Black Diamond Contact Crampons were easy to put on and remove, held firmly in place and provided for excellent traction and stability. I have had an opportunity to use the crampons once on South Spur trail to Mt. Adams and the “Lunch Counter.” Our late-day approach and subsequent mid-day decent took us across the Crescent Glacier (in reality a snow field). The field was covered with a layer of corn snow at ~48 degrees air temperature and had estimated gradients up to about 20 degrees. Ant-ibot plates did their job. I purchased the semiautomatic (clip) version.

Haven't had a chance to use them yet, but they seem well made. The size 12 pair I have will need to have the longer bar (just miss out by one hole) but not the fault of the Crampon.

Very happy with product and flexibility to use with multiple boots since I rent boots from multiple shops. Campsaver was fast and efficient with shipment!
