Reviews & Ratings for Black Diamond Distance Z Trekking Poles
— 8 reviews — Page 1
Great stuff, lightweight and easy to use 3-fold trekking poles. Used it on my 100 miles trail run few months ago and i guess i won't finish the race before cutoff time without it. Really worth every penny.

Absolutely love these poles for kick in the pants mountain runs! They make such a big difference not only on the uphill where it’s like droppin’ er down in 4 low but also on the steep technical downhill they really aid in keeping you from loosing your teeth.

I've owned two different Black Diamond Distance Z treakking poles, and BOTH pair have been ruined by the handles, that should slide down the shaft, seize up on me.
My best GUESS is that sweat is finding it's way inside the handle and when the sweat evaporates, minerals and salt deposits cause the handle to stick when you store the poles folded up.
Pros:
Light weight
Cons:
short life span

The poles are phenomenal, they are super light and comfortable. It is super practical to fold them quickly. They proved to be good at snow and in long hikes. They are ergonomic to the hands and easy to put on your backpack. They are simply great .

My first pair lasted me 3 years of heavy abuse mountaineering, running, and hiking. They fold up light and small, so great for running vests or stowing in a climbing pack on an alpine rock climb. Gold standard.

I had a less expensive set of trekking poles that broke recently. I decided to try out these and have been pleased so far. I ran a 100k ultra race and was very happy with the purchase. I was hesitant about the grips but found out they were actually very comfortable for hours on end. These poles are simple, light, and perfectly functional.
