Most Helpful Negative Review Fit Issues
I ordered the First Light Hoody Dec. of 2016, getting the last year's model on sale. I have some other Black Diamond clothes and appreciated the slimmer fit on them, but this jacket was too tight in the arms and across the chest. No problem w/ design or materials. For reference, I ordered the Medium (as I do in everything), I am 5'10", and I have a 38" chest. For a very slim person, I think this might actually be great as an active puffy w/ just a warm base layer underneath, but if you're average of larger or want to layer I would look elsewhere. Great insulated sweater

Impressed with the cut and quality of this insulated sweater. The zipper can be a bit sticky but is totally manageable. I found it very useful in cold conditions doing light aerobic activity. This will definitely be in my backcountry ski pack all winter!

Great product

Bought this as a gift for my hubby and he loves it. It has a great athletic fit (BD is cut for long torso) and despite being pretty thin it is very warm...he was jokingly saying it has a heating rod in the back panels. He has a few other insulated jackets but they don't fit as good, he had to get a medium in those (due to the sleeve & jacket length being too short in a small) whereas a size S in BD fits him like a glove. Can't comment on the wear as he's only had it for a week, but at first glimpse the fabric that it's made of looks pretty tough.

Good Kit, Bad Fit

I find myself very frustrated with BD apparel. All their kit is top notch in quality and function. Unfortunately, they cut their garments for only the long and lean. I wish I could wear it, but alas I don't fit their mold
