Black Diamond StormLine Stretch Rain Shell Jacket - Women's

I've already reviewed this item in the XXS size. It was a little tight across the chest (and I don't have much of a chest for something to be tight across), so I bumped up to the XS in a different, but equally adored colour (captain -- which is just a perfect shade of navy). Unfortunately, the XS was a little big. I had been going back and forth between this rain jacket and one from TNF. Hands down the BD jacket has better features (velcro only on the sleeves, works with a helmet, visor on the hood, waterproof zipper instead of fabric with velcro), but there was so much extra fabric in the sleeves and it didn't fit my waist as well. Even though I live in the PNW, I don't wear a rain jacket much at all so I didn't have to have the extra features -- I could go with something basic and be fine. I mean, climbing in the rain isn't something I'm going to do anyway -- if I can avoid it. In the end, I went with fit over better function. Both pack down into a little pouch of a pocket, but I just felt the BD didn't fit as well. However, it gets super good reviews all over the internet, so I HIGHLY recommend the item. Everyone has a different build, so maybe it will be perfect for you!
Pros:
Quality product
packs down small
Helmet Compatible Hood
Great material
Minimal Velcro
Visor Hood
Waterproof Zipper
Cons:
It simply didn't fit me. Sadness.
Best Used for:
Um. Going outside!
Would recommend: Yes
