Compared with ultra distance poles, it's much stronger and can bare intense loading upon downhill. It also features more comfortable wrist strap and changeable basket, which can be replaced upon damage

Extremely nice poles

I have a neurological condition that affects my balance. I used to be an avid walker and hiker, walking over 50 miles per week, and I've missed it very much in the past few years. BD finally nailed it!

Finally, a z-pole with interchangeable baskets! Loved the original Ultra Distance Carbon Z-poles, but wasted a lot of time trying to jury-rig snow baskets to them for snowshoeing; ended up with the UDs for 3-season and a pair of Alpine Carbon Corks for winter. The new Ultra Mountains have replaced both pair.
