I purchased this to replace a 20 yr old Brunton model that has just finally worn out. TruArc compass has tool-free declination, no need for a screwdriver/knife point. The global needle might be a good reason to finally go to New Zealand.
At 32 grams (with lanyard), basic compass and map are still the best way to navigate and they ALWAYS work.
