I bought the 'WP' version of this shoe to keep my feet from becoming covered in dirt more than for keeping moisture out. I have a pair of nearly identical Salomon FellRaisers minus Gore- Text that are great shoes except for the fact that even a short run or walk in Central Oregon dust leaves my feet looking like I walked barefoot, as they suck dust in. So far the Speedcross' Gore-Tex lining keeps my feet cleaner, albeit a bit hotter. I've been impressed with Salomons fit and durability.

Osprey Exos 48 Pack
The only thing I don't like about this pack is trying to remember which storage compartment/pouch I put something in. It rides very comfortably and the back ventilation works great. No sweaty shirt to turn clammy. Only used it once so far, with 25 lb. load. It's very well constructed and thought out.
