The medium in this jacket was a comfortable fit. Plenty of shoulder/chest/armpit room. The sleeves run long on me (but I have short arms), and it doesn't have thumb holes. It is "fitted" around the waist and hips, but the material is stretchy enough to be comfortable. I recently wore this on a 40F hike and was comfortable in the sun and while moving. Layered under a shell, it was a nice mid-layer in the shade.
