Improves the legs

Written on Feb 09, 2018

Received both sizes today for my Helinox products. They come in sets of 4.
UPC Number 8 809272 094043 is for Helinox products with SMALLER aluminum legs. It is about a 2 inch ball, and has a mounting hole that is 3/4 inch in diameter by about 1inch deep. It is rounded at the bottom to fit the contour on the hard plastic feet that come on the legs. It works great on the legs on my Cot Max Convertible. I needed 4 sets to do all 16 legs.
UPC Number 8 809272 098553 is for Helinox products with LARGER aluminum legs. It is about a 2 inch ball, and has a mounting hole that is 1 inch in diameter by about 1 inch deep. It is rounded at the bottom to fit the contour on the hard plastic feet that come on the legs. It works great on the larger diameter legs on my SUNSET CHAIRs.
They grip hard floors better than the hard plastic feet, making my cot stay in place and quieter when I move around on it at night. On the chair they quadruple the surface area per leg and thus should provide a great deal more flotation on soft surfaces. Though, not enough flotation to help on snow. They also, provide a greater level of puncture resistance to tent floors. The feet are made of a hard silicone that is flexible. Installing them takes a little effort to get them completely seated. They grip the original feet well and stay in place when moving my chair or cot. I was able to get the Sunset chair back in the carrying bag it came with with the feet on. It was a much tighter fit t

HIGH Cot Max

Written on Mar 08, 2017

Received the LEGS today. The Cot Max Convertible is now the ultimate COT for a multitude of uses. They include a spare cot for home, car camping, base camping, hunting, or any where you need to get off the ground. The cot comes in a bag the same size as the original cot max. The 16 legs are in a separate bag. They add some weight but not much as they are only 11.25" long. They raised the cot to 15" (same as the smaller High Cot). To install them, insert in the holes provided until they snap in place. Removal is easy, as the snap is gentle and only enough to keep them from falling out as the cot is assembled or moved around. They are black to contrast with the blue aluminum of the base frame. This cot is the same size as the original Cot Max. Thus, any pad 30" x 80" will fit on it. Likewise sleeping bags. It provides room to rollover and move during the night. The 15" height allows us older folks to get up easily. I'm 69. I won't be backpacking or canoeing, but I will use this on fishing trips and hunting trips where it will be set up in a tent. I already own two regular High Cots, and the original Cot Max. I've been waiting for this version for two years. I thought having the legs separate might be a issue, but after assembly and take down I think it will be OK.
Note to Helinox customers: On the leg bag they have written: Compatible models - Cot one convertible, Cot home convertible, Tactical cot c. v., and Cot max convertible. Expect to see some new models.
"Great Job Helino

Helinox Beach Chair

Written on Apr 08, 2016

Just received the chair. The frame goes together like other Helinox products, with the shock cord just roll it around and parts snap in place. it only takes seconds. The cover fits tight. Follow the directions, put the back over the supports first. Then stretch the seat over one support. It takes a little effort. The other seat support takes more effort and some bending of the aluminum support. The Helinox frame can take it. Just when you think it maybe to much it pops into the fabric pocket. The seat sits low to the ground. When your in it the fabric stretches and your butt is only about 4 to 6 inches from the ground. Quite a bit lower than the sunset chair for example. I love the high back for comfort. I can rest my head and the bag can be used as a pillow. Just stuff a shirt, towel, or jacket in it. Zip it up and it velcro’s to the seat back. Great feature. Nap time. I haven’t tried it in sand, but, the oversized feet pads should provide enough flotation to keep from settling to deeply in the sand. People that have trouble getting out of a chair will have a hard time standing up without help because of how low you sit in this chair. Those folks would be happier with the Sunset Chair because they are higher off the ground. The cloth seats of the chairs are interchangeable between the Beach Chair and the Sunset Chair. (I have both and tried it) The legs of the Sunset Chair are made for hard surfaces and will sink into sand easily. There are ways to make them resist sinking.
