I bought this for an upcoming PCT thru hike attempt after debating for a few months on whether to use my current inflatable that I love oh-so-much. Out of concern of puncturing my inflatable and being left with more of a ground cover and thinking of how much I don't enjoy inflating and deflating my inflatable, I decided to give the z-lite sol a try. While the inflatable (nearly 2 inch thick) is obviously more comfortable to sleep on, I will happily take the z-lite sol with me. I've tried it out on just a 2 night trip so far and I slept really well (though I admittedly can sleep anywhere). The ease of throwing it down once I get to camp and then strapping it to the pack in the morning is worth any loss of discomfort to me. Sure, it realistically probably only saves me 5-8 minutes total per day, but when you are exhausted from a long day, you don't feel like blowing up a sleeping pad. I'm guessing it will also be very nice to pull it out in the middle of the day for a siesta and if I were to bring my inflatable, that wouldn't happen. It is surprisingly warm and you can feel the warmth within minutes of laying on it. I was also surprised by the amount of padding it provides for how thin and light it is.
