I have loved the wire gate carabiners. Less mass so less likely to "bounce" open, they weigh less, and fewer parts so less likely to have something break. However, the notch was a nuisance considering the key-lock carabiners that made getting getting ropes and bolts in and out so easy. Its the best of both worlds with the hood-wire. No snags getting equipment in/out. They are really awesome. My only complaint is price. Wish they cost less.
