I purchased this jacket during an amazing sale, otherwise this Rab item would typically be out of my price range. I am thoroughly impressed with the jacket. The Pertex exterior is amazingly waterproof, it wont replace a good quality rain shell, but it does a great job of keeping moisture out.
When it comes to warmth this jacket has it. I have been sporting this coat in upstate New York and have found it be adequate with just tee shirt into the high 20's (standing around for hours). The construction is top quality with lots of intelligent attention to detail i.e. wire in hood to adjust shape, placement of hood cinch cords etc. I would happily recommend this jacket to anyone interested. The sizing does run a little small, so if you have wide shoulders, long arms or a medium to long torso I would order larger than you normally would by one size.
