It's hard to beat a quality boot, we spend so much time on our feet and in the mountains a good boot is a great friend. Nice wide toe box and a great fit in the heel. I always look to Mammut first for new boots.
Right out of the box and up on the hill, these boots fit much like the Monolith boot by Mammut, just a little lower. The sizing is true I ordered the 7 and they fit like a glove. They would be too stiff for regular hiking but if your outing involves some climbing these boots would work for you snow, rocks or Ice. Being crampon compatible makes it easier for these to be a crossover boot to get you to the summit. I absolutely love all the Mammut products they have served me well in the backcountry.
Granted these are soft shell pants that will take you into the mountains...however the style leaves something to be desired they fit kind of baggy and the thigh pockets sans zipper are weird. Granted these are a sample, I certainly would not purchase them at regular price. Guess I'll use them when I hike alone so my friends don't point and laugh at me for the funky pants I'm wearing. I love most Mammut products but these miss the mark by a long shot.
I purchased this to wear as a casual piece, however I pretty much wear it all the time. It is perfect for this time of the year either hiking or snowshoeing, it moves with you and is breathable enough so you aren't all sweaty when you reach the top. I love the retro stripes and high collar which keeps any winds from sneaking down your neck and back. Another quality garment from Mammut!
These are by far the weirdest pants I have bought to date. They are very light weight, and puffy, definitely a winter camping or snowshoeing wear. On the plus side they have adjustable tabs at the waist to fine tune the fit. There is a mesh lining so they shouldn't stick your legs if you sweat, the only question I have is what were they thinking with the zipper vents on the inside of the leg? They are a sample and thus likely won't get to production, so I can be unique wearing these...all in all I quite like them!
This hoodie is awesome, the drop tail is new and works well to keep your lower back and butt warm when wearing a pack. The somewhat hard face is wind resistant. The hood fits the noggin well, so when you want to enjoy your lunch on that windy ridge you can and still stay warm. I bought the large so I could layer for snowshoeing. Only one drawback is the long sleeves, but you can simply fold them under. This will be going to Aconcagua with me for sure!
