Grivel Plume Twin Gate Carabiner

Written on Nov 15, 2017

This is a specialized piece of equipment. It excels as an ice climbing or alpine climbing locking carabiner. Its the only one that is not likely to freeze up occasionally, and yet it provides a comparable safety margin as other lockers. Its super light which is a bonus. Its only drawback is the time it takes to get used to it. Just clipping at first is a mystery. But once you get familiar with it it is faster than any other locker to clip and unclip, with the bonus of the freeze-proof nature of it. If you are an alpine or ice climber I think a couple of these should be essential parts of the rack. If you have ever tried to unclip from your rappel device and had a frozen 'biner you know how bad that can be......this fixes that problem

Men's Evolv Cruzer Psyche Approach Shoe

Written on Nov 02, 2017

This shoe excels in two things primarily. It is very light and it looks good. Oh and the rubber is very sticky. I got this for an approach and descent shoe for long multipitch climbs and was not disappointed. Mostly I wanted a shoe that packed well in a haul bag or hung well on the back of a harness. It excelled here.
