Quality glove

Written on Dec 02, 2016

I wanted a lighter glove to handle uphill ski which provided warmth but wicked sweat as much as possible. These gloves are light and I wasn't sure if they would keep hands warm but they do. I have used them skiing and running in the 20 degree plus range and hands were warm and dry. Not sure how they would work in colder temps since they are minamlist in design but I may try soon.

Top tier shoe

My first pair of Salomon footwear. I knew these are preferred by their elite runners. You can tell the quality just putting them on. The speed laces are bombproof much more than say in Hokas. Tongue is locked down doesn't move. Inner very smooth could go sock less probably with no trouble. The grip on rocks or anything else is strong. These shoes are very light with just enough cushion and rock liner to do the job. The sole reminded me a little of NB 110 but these have more cushion and rock protection and an upper that is fantastic locking your foot in place. How far you could run in them will be specific to you. Unlike elite Solomon runners, I think 50k to perhaps 50 miles would be my comfort limit. They are so very light though you could use them in any short distance race or speed work. For me they fit true to size. Worth $170? Up to you, or wait for a sale!

Quality running top

This is a very nice top. It is an athletic fit but stretchy so not confining. Material under arms and top of back is thinner for good venting. I did a 3 hour run temps in 50s light wind up high with it unzipped and at end almost no dampness. Wicked great. I am 6'1" and 160 and Med fits great. I have owned the MTR shorts too which are simple and super light. Did a 100 mile ultra with them no issues.
