Looked hard for a water-proof shell jacket for mostly on-resort ski/snowboarding. Compared to Arc-teryx, Patagonia, TNF, BlackDiamond and Mammut. Overall went with fit and style of Westcomb. We will see how the e-vent and durability hold-up after this season.
One small gripe, internal pocket is quite small and does not even hold my Galaxy S4.
Campsaver offered sale price and fantastic custom
This is a great technical light weight windproof piece. This is my first experience with Westcomb, but so far impressed. The fabric very warm and soft on inside and nice smooth waffle-pattern exterior. Exterior appearance is different than typical fleece, with a smooth sheen. Chest pocket (with wire port) was essential for me and thumb holes are nice touch. I will compare this to Patago
