A Rad Set of Sunglasses

Written on Dec 22, 2015

I recently picked up a pair of Outlier XL's, and once again Smith has made a great pair of sunglasses. I had tried on the original Outlier in the past, but didn't purchase due to the fact that the frame and coverage felt a little too small for my taste (read: I've got a big melon). That is all fixed with the Outlier XL. These glasses definitely have a larger overall fit than the original, and offer excellent coverage while maintaining a stylish look. I opted for the Polarized Gray Green lens as I have used it in the past and love how well it performs in most light conditions. And the polarization helps me spot those fishies if I'm out casting on the river.

Possibly the Most Technical Helmet on the Market

Written on Dec 22, 2015

After riding the Vantage all of last season, I'm back in another one for this year. I've skied in the Smith Maze in the past and I enjoy how lightweight it is, but nothing beats the function of the Vantage. The BOA system inside the helmet shell allows you to dial in the perfect fit, while two sets of vents help you stay cool. This helmet has become my go to while skiing the Snowbird due to the fact that it's super easy to close my vents on the way down, then open them up in the Tram line. If you want a great fitting helmet with some of the best technical features out there, you don't need to look any further.

Favorite Goggle. Period.

Written on Nov 14, 2014

The Vice is without a doubt my favorite goggle to date. It mixes and matches various aspects of other goggles that I have worn in the past to make a product that in my opinion, is just right. Great peripheral vision, but also low profile. Fits a folks with a big head/face, but doesn't feel or look bulky. Offers great vision with tons of lens options. The Vice is VERY fog resistant. Fits great over or underneath a helmet.

Do-it-all Active Sunglasses

While I love my Smith Mastermind's as everyday sunglasses, I wanted to get a second pair to use specifically for my outdoor adventures. I was looking for sunglasses that offered great peripheral coverage, combined with polarized optics and a snug fit that would stay in place while fishing, biking, skiing, climbing, etc. I'm happy to say the Frontman sunglasses are a perfect match. The rubberized pads on the nose and temple offer excellent grip and keep these glasses firmly in place even when the going gets rough. Also, the way that the rubber temple pads are attached to the arms of the glasses, it's very easy to attach any kind of retainer straps. Not only are they ideal for your next outdoor adventure, they look cool too.

Best Everyday Sunglasses Around

Written on Nov 14, 2014

I've had three different pairs of Mastermind's, and when this pair eventually wears out, I'll buy another. Not only do these glasses look sweet, they fit me great, have all day comfort, offer surprisingly good coverage, and of course offer great clarity through Smith lenses. I've gone on countless adventures with the sunglasses, and there will be many more to come.

Great Fit and Lightweight

Written on Nov 14, 2014

had heard all of the talk for a while, but once I put on the Maze for the first time, I was truly impressed by just how light it was. Not only did it feel like I was wearing my favorite hat in terms of weight, but also in fit. I have a big head, and the Maze did a great job of staying comfortably in place while skiing all over the mountain, and always felt like it was surrounding my head, not just sitting on top of it. I rode with the Maze last year, and this year it will once again be a staple in my gear bag.

The list goes on, but the bottom line is that the Smith Vice, is great all around goggle with an awesome fit that won't break the bank. I rode mine over 80 days last season, and will continue to use them this winter.
