I have had a pair of Merrells for about 3 years. They have done great with hiking. Nothing is wearing out yet. I always heard they they were comfortable shoes so I got a pair. It took a good half a year until they felt like they had really formed to my feet. But now I love them! So the long time it took. To break them in is the only reason I give it 4 stars and say not to comfortable.
