excellent value

Written on Sep 22, 2016

With the sale on top of the outlet price (older color), I got this jacket super cheap. I wore it on a wet, rainy, hot day and I didn't feel like I was overheating at all, so I can complain. My only gripe is that the hood on this jacket is an odd shape and the "brim" is completely worthless. For all the tech in this jacket, MH easily could have improved it. Otherwise, love it.

Perfect for the minimalist that needs a little more space

Written on Feb 25, 2016

I really enjoy ultra light backpacking, but was looking for a larger pack that had a few nice features because I spend so much time backpacking with my kids (and carrying their stuff!). This pack is perfect in that it doesn't weight a ton, but it handles a pretty large load without making you suffer for it. The weight transfer is the best I've felt for a pack in this class.

I thought the stiffness of the sole was perfect for what I do (lightweight backing with less than 15lbs base pack weight). The wide toe box and overall fit were excellent, without feeling clunky or cumbersome. The way the special laces worked with the exo-skeleton was nothing short of amazing, as the shoes allowed for the most customized fit of any I've ever worn. My only gripe is that I wished the insoles offered a little more cushioning (I'll be getting aftermarket insoles but it sure seems like they could have put something better in there). Also, order a half size up - they run a little small.

Warm, Light, Durable

Written on May 05, 2014

I bought this just before a winter backpacking trip in northern Michigan. Even with ambient temps going down to around zero, this jacket kept me warm the entire time with little to no layering. Since then, I've warn it in the rain, where it proved very waterproof and fast drying, and in temps well below zero, where it was still toasty. I still marvel at the warmth to weight ratio, considering i
