What can I say? I haven't even worn the shoe yet, except around my house, but in just that time, it is clear this is no ordinary shoe.
Let me start with a confession: I am not a trail runner. I am a backpacker. I want a pair of shoes I can kick around camp with, that don't add a lot of weight, and that can support any funny little adventure that might arise at 6 am before the packs are back on.
A friend suggested that the Talon might meet my needs.
First, the Talon is lite. Very light. I basically did not feel I had a shoe on in terms of weight.
Second, the soles seem to have a ton of grip. I could just about climb the wall in my stair case.
Third, the sizing is insane.
After reading a variety of reviews on line, I knew the length of the shoe is nonstandard . Based on these reviews, I ordered a half size up. The length is still too short. After speaking with a very helpful person here at Camp Saver, I decided to move up another half step. We'll see how that t urns out.
Something I don't understand - why would a company with the reputation that Inov8 seems to have offer a shoe for which on line customers need to guess at the sizing? It is counter intuitive. Just call a 10 a 10. It's a great product. Don't detract from it by calling a 10 an 11.
