Hello everyone, I hope all is well.
The Thermarest Airhead Pillow is bigger than I thought it would be, comfortable enough, and a nice color that matches my Thermarest sleeping bags and pad. Although I was disappointed that a pump sack was not included or that the air valve was too small to use with my pump sack from my Thermarest pad. I fear that lung power would create condensation, and eventually mold. Perhaps Thermarest could design a reducer valve to fit both pad and pillow. Also the inner bladder seems unnecessarily heavy duty so that it is near impossible to place back into the included sack.
Hello everyone ! I hope all is well.
I don't have much experience bike camping yet, but I have done a bit of research and read many reviews.I hope this review is helpful to someone.
I didn't want to buy a mummy bag for mid season bike camping, cause if it is warm they typically do not unzip, but halfway down, and I am a side/stomach sleeper. I looked at quilts, but didn't like that they are open in the back and didn't want to lie on a bare pad.I looked at camping blankets and wool blankets but they are heavyish and do not pack down well.
So I bought the Thermarest Ohm 20F/-6C sleeping bag in the Balsam color, size large. It is lightweight, packs down well, good quality, zips open completely so I can use it in an adjustable blanket style.
About 2-3 weeks later, when I had the money, I bought the Thermarest Hyperion 32F/0C sleeping bag Black Forest color in size Large. It is a mummy bag, and a risk I took, cause out in the field I may not like it much, but decided to try it anyway. Although I am thinking that it may be ok for colder weather and that I may combine it with my Thermarest Ohm sleeping bag either placed inside or used as a blanket.
As we all know weather can vary considerably, that's a given. As I am new to this it seems that there is not one sleeping bag that can do it all in all weather conditions. So I decided to buy two bags and combine them, when needed, for a versatile sleeping kit along with my Thermarest Neo Air XTherm NXT max
