Comfortable right out of the box. These shoes are light-weight, good tread, and the fit is true. I usually wear a size 7-7.5 in regular shoes, and an 8 in athletic shoes. I did add an inexpensive insole as I like a bit more cushion,

These hiking pants are great. The fit well and true to size. The legs are not too tight or too loose, and the length is great for me (5'4"). The waistband is smooth, comfortable, and fairly wide, with belt loops which I like. The desert khaki color is beautiful. The fabric is smooth but also has a nice texture to it. I look forward to cooler weather hiking in these pants.
