I've used this several times so far, the last time conditions were damp. This was able to ignite & dry out enough little stuff to start a fire for drying out larger pieces.
It does use a lot of fuel, but that's apparent when you see (and hear) the flame. It sounds like a genuine blow torch. But even with regular cooking over a couple nights, a large MSR tank lasted with gas to spare.
My only gripe is that once in a while, when pointing it down, the flame will go out. It wouldn't be a problem if they hadn't over-promised by saying it works upsidedown. Also, an ignition click would be cool.
This thing is a beast. I've owned it for over a year now and have used it 30 or so times. I've used it for wood working, lighting camp fires, and even creme brulee. I'm a big fan of it folding up to make it more compact for storage. My only complaint is the accompanying bag, as it feels rather cheap. However, there's enough space to throw a lighter in there as well. All in all, quite a versatile tool!
Nice blow torch! Be careful when you 1st get it and try to unfold it, there is a small spring loaded button that needs to be depressed when folding and unfolding. Mine came with the green bottle adapter. Produces an impressive flame from a butane mix canister. Don’t know about the green bottle performance.
