Certainly not super bright, in fact there was no light at all until I fiddled with it for quite some time. Yes, I put the batteries in correctly. Stiff and difficult to pop open, turns on about 50% of the times and casts a dim light. It's a cool compact design that's poorly executed with cheap components. What do you expect for nothing?
