I got these for my wife for her birthday. She ended up sending them back and getting the X Ultra Prime - and loves those. She wanted these as a hiker. These were not necessarily designed for this purpose. My daughter has a pair of the Speedcross and recommended them. My daughter uses them for Tough Mudders as well as hikers and loves them. However, two things about these shoes bothered my wife:
1.The Speedcross sole was just too narrow for her.
2. She hated the lacing system. She had a tough time adjusting the plastic cord lock that the laces run through. And the laces were super thin, which also bothered her (tough on the fingers when adjusting - especially when monkeying around with the plastic cord lock).
I think it's a great shoe, but just was not for her.
I recently used the lightweight 40 non-hooded sleeping bag in the Black Hills. It got down to around 50 degrees in the early mornings. I was warm enough with it. One night I woke up slightly cold but realized I had moved off of my Ridgerest. Once back on the pad I was fine. I used it backpacking around the Harney Peak trail and it was nice because it was light and highly compressible. I don't sleep well in mummy bags because they are so tight, but this was roomy enough for me to get comfortable in. I am short (5'7") and if you were over 6' the regular may be too short for you. Overall, I loved it. Did everything I expected it to do without breaking the bank.
