great hiking poles

Written on Jun 02, 2019

the hand grips are comfortable to hold. these are light weight but strong poles with lots of ground grip especially great on hills or on uneven ground. I bought them to replace another set of Komperdell Carbon poles that were stolen .... the Expedition Tour 4 Compact poles are better than the ones I had previously - they are lighter in weight and break down more which makes them easier to pack into a day pack which is what I mostly use.

Lowa Renegade GTX Hiking Boot - womens

Written on Feb 17, 2019

I was very happy to see that the colour (anthracite) is more dark charcoal grey than green. I usually wear size 39 Eur shoes but for hiking boots I generally go up a size. In this case I went up to 41.5 and they fit perfectly. My feet are relatively wide at the base of my toes and most boots tend to be narrow at this point however Lowa boots are wider than most which means they won't need much if any walking in. I tend to do long walks so getting good quality boots is important and while these were relatively expensive I am sure they will last well as are beautifully made. Am very pleased with my purchase and looking forward to many walks in the future.
