My 9yo son took this pack on several short backpacking trips. I loaded it up with about 13lbs of weight which is around 15% of his body weight. Adjustability and lightness of this pack will serve him for a very long time. At the moment this is the lightest pack for kids with the widest range of adjustability. My son is around 4'8" and 75lbs.
Also it has ample number of pockets for all the toys and gadgets.
