I purchased this pack as my all-around bag for most activities. It will serve well for sure, but there are some points I have to mention. The side ("bottle") pockets won't accept any decent sized bottle. 16oz Nalgene barely fits, but no chance for 32oz. They are simply too small and oddly shaped. The lacing system that Bach suggests to use instead of traditional webbing needs modification. I recommend to purchase something like "Woojin Mini Combo Hook 10 mm" and put them between the laces and loops. Do not lace up directly as on advertisment photos because the ropes will cut through each other. Also, you'll have to choose between going with the lid or going with rope holder. Because they occupy the same attachment point. Either one or another. Nevertheless, I do not regret the purchase. The pack is absolutely usable and nice to carry. The downsides I listed above are OK to live with. With some cord and plastic furniture you can craft basically any system for gear attachment.
