Everybody has an image of the type of hat that works best for them so, the style of a hat is very subjective but, if you need a rain hat, this one is made of Gore-tex and still is able to look good. This is not a sun hat...it's pretty warm even though it has a wide brim to keep the sun off your head...it was designed to deflect rain.
I don't like going into the wild without wearing some kind of glove and I live in Florida. Finding the right glove that gives you enough protection can be difficult because most gloves are not designed for hot weather. This glove covers all the factors needed for that condition and still has a durable palm to grab your poles with.
If you have the money...spend a little more on this jacket..Arcterex quality, lightweight and DOESN'T expand for a helmet if you don't need one. I've learned over time that it's best to spend more and get everything that you want than save and do without and if it doesn't live up to your expectations...Campsaver.com is the best for returning items.
Arc'teryx is a premium priced line of outerwear but, like anything...you usually get what you pay for. If you have the money to spend and want the highest quality...this is it. Extremely lightweight and a beautiful design with no extraneous frills. The goal is to keep warm and dry and you CAN do it cheaper but, not better.
