This pack is a good size for a long day out. It has plenty of space for an extra layer, lunch, and a rain jacket. The 100oz reservoir is in its own, easy-to-access compartment, and it has a quick-connect tube to make filling easy. I like the overflow compartment, which is stretchy on the sides, for stashing the rain cover I bought and anything else I might need to reach quickly. It fits well, with comfortable vented back padding and a hip belt. It has straps to secure hiking sticks. I like how the fit is female specific; it feels comfortable when loaded. There's a fleece-lined pocket for glasses and phone, and an organizer pocket for keys, camera, and such. Side pockets for water bottles as well. Great plum color.
This jacket is lightweight but rugged. I wore this over a base layer and under a rain jacket while hiking and sightseeing for 7 days in a row in Iceland this month, and it kept its shape, kept me warm, and didn't smell. The styling is flattering and the design is attractive.
The Maverick crew is a very lightweight base layer with a comfortable, not-too-high neckline. The merino wool feels great against the skin and is not at all itchy. The top is a nice length.
