These are my 2nd pair of mountain khakis over the past 10years (both still in use). This model- the original mountain pant, are the toughest khakis made. The extra room afforded by the gusseted crotch can't be intuited, only understood through personal experience. I will wear these pants to the apocalypse. I will wear these pants on my first multi-planet exploration. And after all that, I will still tuck my permanent press wrinkle-free button-down in, and wear them to work that next Monday. These are heirloom pants....you've seen people wearing antique-vintage clothing....these are among only a handful of pieces of clothing I've ever seen and thought, "well those will be around in 100 years."
