EVA midsole

I was really excited about these boots. They seemed well made and fit well and seemed durable. Unfortunately I learned later that this boot, like the others made by Zamberlan (and Asolo, alas) use EVA midsoles. That material doesn't hold up. Having lost the last two pairs of boots to hydrolysis where the soles detatched, I am doing everything I can to find materials that hold up.

I want my boots to last a long time. These boots, though seemingly well made used little tiny cords to hold the lacing eyes. They just didn't look to me like they would hold up. I guess I'm very old school about these kinds of things.
